Conscious Connected Breathwork is the broader field of practice built around this pattern and may include physical, creative, or interpersonal tools.

Rebirthing Breathwork is one of the historical schools that used and developed connected breathing from the 1970s. Over time, different approaches emerged, with varying language, theory, duration, and support methods.

CCB is therefore not synonymous with every form of Rebirthing, Holotropic Breathwork, or other named method. CCB is defined by the connection of inhalation and exhalation without pause. Depending on the rhythm and depth, ventilation may increase and carbon dioxide may decrease, especially in more intense practices. This is one reason why rhythm and context matter.

Is CCB the same as Rebirthing?

No. Rebirthing is a specific historical approach that uses Conscious Connected Breathing.
